Our Membership
**Membership Update for the Upcoming Season 26-27**
Membership renewals for this season have now taken place. Once again we were massively oversubscribed and sold out the available memberships not taken up by existing members very quickly. At this time the only memberships which are still available are RIVERS only memberships and Juniors. These can be purchased online directly from our website.
I would like to thank those who took the time and applied for membership whom we were unable too accommodate
Best regards,
Les
Membership
The Annual Subscription will be due on the 1st of June of each year and last for one calendar year, or in the event of a member joining part way through the year, the remainder of the calendar year. Members will not be able to fish until they have renewed their membership.
Members who do not renew their subscriptions before June 1st of the new season will be deemed to have relinquished their membership and must therefore re-apply and the joining fee will then also apply.
Junior members are those who hold a junior E.A rod licence on the date of application
MEMBERSHIP ID CARD
New members must buy an ID card for a £10 fee at the time of registration, which covers printing and postage. This card will be linked to your account and does not need to be replaced unless it is lost..
Renewing members do not need to purchase a new ID card, as the card is valid for life unless it is lost.
A replacement ID card will incur a £10 charge for reprinting and postage if lost.

GATE CODE
The gate code for next season will NOT be printed in your book. It will be emailed out to members just before the 1st June.
The membership books and new cards will be sent out in bulk during the middle to latter part of May so therefore do not panic that you have paid and not received your new card.
Finally please bear with us as this process is very time consuming and can be made that more difficult by those that do not read or respond in the correct manner. As you would expect, you have a greater chance of membership by completing the process correctly.
Thanks

Membership for 2025/26 season
Following last nights AGM, we are now in a position to organise and accept members rejoining and new applications for 2025/26.
Existing members ONLY
Any existing member that wants a “like for like” replacement can now go online to the website and log into your account. You will then be able to make a payment for your membership.. Moving from a junior to intermediate or intermediate to senior etc is NOT an upgrade and can be processed as normal.
Likewise a baitboat is not an upgrade and can be purchased with your membership if required.
The deadline date for renewing your membership should be completed by Monday 12th May
Any existing member DOES NOT have to pay the £10 new member Levy which covers the cost of your rule book and ID card.
That is unless you have lost your book and/or card. If so, by adding the “Membership ID Replacement Card (£10.00 )”
you will then receive a new book and card.
Existing members who would like to UPGRADE.
Any EXISTING member who wishes to be considered for an upgrade, I.E. adding a night ticket or from river only to full member should send an email to the following:
membership@gippingaps.co.uk
The email should be entitled “UPGRADE REQUEST” adding details of member number and what type of upgrade is required.
DO NOT renew your existing membership if you are seeking to upgrade your current membership, as this creates accounting problems and increases our costs.
This email must arrive by the 12th May to be considered.
These will be looked at and if it is possible to accommodate your request, you will be informed of a decision by Monday 19th May. You will then have 1 week to purchase the upgraded ticket . If we are unable to accommodate the upgrade you will then have 1 week to complete the purchase of your existing level of membership.
Again, upgrading membership does not mean you have to pay the new member surcharge of £10
All existing members
Your existing membership book and ID card is to be retained for future proof of membership. DO NOT throw away the blue rule book or your picture ID card. It will not be renewed again this year. This is to help save costs and be that little bit greener in saving printing books and Plastic ID cards
Any person who does throw away or lose their book or ID card will be liable for a £10 cost of replacement.
New membership.
Numbers of tickets available will be dependent upon the numbers of existing members who renew within their timescale given. If they have not renewed within the dates given it will be deemed they are NOT renewing and their membership will be sold to another applicant.
Any person wishing to be considered for membership needs to email : Membership@gippingaps.co.uk
With the title “New member application”
You will also need to state what type of membership is required. I.e. Adult, Intermediate+ night ticket, Junior, Senior (oap) etc. (please be aware Juniors are NOT allowed night permits).
For those asking for a night ticket you will need to make clear whether membership is dependent upon a night ticket being offered as these are expected to be very limited if any are even available.
It also helps if you add a few details of yourself and any existing member who can vouch for your conduct.
These will then be discussed by the committee and those approved will be contacted. If you are fortunate enough to be accepted then the offer of membership is time dependent and needs to be completed promptly. This is to alow us to offer any membership not taken up to another applicant.
Please note that I have once again received applications from people trying to join since the start of the year so we expect demand to be high and exceed what we will have available.
Please do not try and buy a NEW membership online without having been previously contacted by us and having your application approved. Once approved you will receive the code to allow purchase of a membership. Any unauthorised attempts to do so will be blocked and only create more work for us, which is not recommended. Any person who does purchase an unauthorised membership or upgrade which is declined will then be charged an administration fee of £15 and may have their refund delayed until applications have been completed.
Any new or returning ex member will also have to pay an initial levy of £10 on top of the membership fee. This is for the cost of printing and posting out your rule book and ID card.
Existing members have already paid this, and new members did so last year, like them you will not be liable for this in future years if you remain a member.
Account deletion
If you are no longer interested in joining Gaps or do not want to receceive emails from us, please reply with the title “account deletion” in the subject line. Your account will then be deleted from our system.
Deadline dates
The timeline / deadlines for membership to renew are as follows.
Existing members who wish to renew their existing membership be advised this closes on May 12th
Members who are upgraded, or have upgrades declined will have until the 26th May to complete once informed of the decision.
New members will be advised by June 1st or as soon as possible after that date if they are sucessful.
Not renewing by the dates given will be deemed as you not rejoining and your membership may be sold.
Once again, ONLY new or returning members need to purchase the new member surcharge which is to pay for your membership book and ID card, plus postage to your address. If you pay it and it is not required then this will not be refunded as it costs us to do so.
Thanks
Les Hart Secretary
