Welcome to the web site of GAPS the local Ipswich Angling Society

Welcome
Our society is heavily involved in the preservation and conservation of waters and its inhabitants in and around the Gipping Valley areas. We are also managing agents for the Ipswich Borough Council's "Riverside Road" stretch of the River Gipping.

About Us
We were established in 1868 and are now the product of two local clubs joining ranks early in the twentieth century. We now maintain an ongoing stocking policy for all our still waters and work heavily with the Environment Agency to keep the river Gipping in prime condition.

Aims of the Society
Our Aim is Provide, Acquire and Protect fishing for all Members of the Society and people within the areas of Ipswich and the surrounding districts. To Protect and Conserve Wildlife in connection with Rivers and Lakes. To encourage all members and the General Public to do likewise. To offer help and advice where it is possible to all Angling Clubs, Associations, Landowners and Riparian Owners in Suffolk and East Anglia.
